Prior to her start in the role of Deputy Head of College - Wellbeing in 2024, for the prior twenty years, Jacqui was Head of the Health and Physical Education Department at Queen’s High School in Dunedin. During her tenure at Queen’s, she also held a number of other leadership positions, including year-level Dean, Principal's Nominee and Acting Assistant Principal.
Prior to Queen’s High School, Jacqui taught at Dunstan High School in Alexandra, and Wairoa College in Hawkes Bay. She also taughtfor four years overeas at Thomas’s London Day Schools (more famously known nowadays as the school Prince George attended), enjoying the opportunity this gave her to travel, one of Jacqui’s favourite pastimes.
Jacqui lives in St Clair with her partner Mark and they have two children. Their son, Jay, is studying surveying at the University of Otago (through presently he has taken up the opportunity to work for a year playing rugby in the United Kingdom), and their daughter, Thea, will begin her teritary studies this year, also at Otago.
As a University of Otago alumnus, graduating in physical education, Jacqui enjoys many outdoor pursuits such as camping, skiiing and keeping active walking their dog Django daily, who will no doubt be welcomed by Members of St Margaret’s when he visits the College on occassion.
